- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- Stir in the diced apples, milk, and egg until just combined; do not overmix.
- Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep fryer or heavy skillet to 375°F (190°C).
- Drop tablespoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, frying in batches for 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown.
- Remove fritters with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar.
Notes
These fritters are best enjoyed fresh. For a crispier texture, ensure the oil is at the correct temperature.
