Description

These Asian-inspired ground beef lettuce wraps are healthy, flavorful, and quick to prepare. Ground beef is seasoned with ginger, garlic, and soy sauce, wrapped in crisp lettuce leaves for a delightful crunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup green onions, sliced
  • 8 large lettuce leaves (such as iceberg or romaine)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Optional: chili flakes for heat

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in garlic and ginger; cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil; stir to combine.
  5. Mix in diced bell pepper, shredded carrots, and green onions; cook for 2-3 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  7. Spoon the beef mixture into lettuce leaves.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra heat, add a pinch of chili flakes. Use lean ground beef to reduce fat content. These wraps are best served fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
