Description

A simple and delicious baked French toast casserole perfect for breakfast.


Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of French bread, sliced into 1-inch pieces
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Optional: Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Arrange the sliced bread in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the bread, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown and set in the center.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes
