Description

Crispy fried shrimp tossed in a sweet and spicy mayonnaise-based sauce, often served as an appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Coat the shrimp in this mixture.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the shrimp until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey to make the sauce.
  4. Toss the fried shrimp in the sauce until evenly coated.
  5. Garnish with green onions and serve immediately.

Notes

For a healthier version, bake the shrimp instead of frying. Adjust spice levels to taste.
