Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups vanilla buttercream frosting
  • Red and green gel food coloring
  • Festive sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 5-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternately with the milk until just combined. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely.
  6. Level the top of the cake if needed. Tint portions of the frosting with red and green food coloring. Frost the cake and decorate with festive designs and sprinkles.
