 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
 - 1 cup granulated sugar
 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

 - 2 tablespoons red food coloring
 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
 - 1/2 cup buttermilk
 - Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips for extra fudginess
 
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
 - In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
 - In a separate large bowl, mix the sugar and melted butter until well combined.
 - Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the red food coloring and vanilla extract.
 - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk, and mix until just combined.
 - Fold in the chocolate chips if using.
 - Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
 - Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
 - Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
 
Notes
For a more intense red color, add an extra teaspoon of red food coloring if needed. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
