Description

This indulgent Italian love cake features layers of moist chocolate cake and creamy ricotta filling, topped with a rich frosting.


Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Prepare the cake mix according to package instructions and pour into the prepared pan.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix ricotta cheese, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth, then layer over the cake batter.
  4. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  5. Allow to cool, then frost with a mixture of cream cheese and powdered sugar.

Notes

For best results, refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours before serving. This cake can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days.
