Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fruit jam (your choice of flavor)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually stir in the flour until a dough forms.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Press your thumb into the center of each ball to make a well.
  7. Fill each well with about 1 teaspoon of jam.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.

Notes

These cookies are best stored in an airtight container to keep them fresh. For a twist, try different jam flavors like raspberry or strawberry.
