Description

This strawberry poke cake is a moist and flavorful dessert where strawberry gelatin is poured into holes poked in a baked white cake, topped with whipped topping and fresh strawberries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box white cake mix
  • Ingredients listed on cake mix box (eggs, oil, water)
  • 1 package (3 oz) strawberry flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • Fresh strawberries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Prepare and bake the white cake mix according to package instructions in a 9×13 inch pan.
  2. Allow the cake to cool for 15 minutes, then poke holes all over the cake using the end of a wooden spoon.
  3. In a bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water, then stir in cold water.
  4. Pour the gelatin mixture evenly over the cake, ensuring it seeps into the holes.
  5. Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  6. Spread whipped topping over the chilled cake and garnish with fresh strawberries before serving.

Notes

For best results, use fresh strawberries and serve chilled. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
