Description

This decadent Black Forest cheesecake features a chocolate crust, creamy cheesecake filling, and cherry topping for a classic dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate wafer crumbs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Whipped cream for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix chocolate wafer crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating on low speed after each addition until just combined.
  5. Stir in sour cream and cocoa powder until fully incorporated.
  6. Pour the batter over the crust in the pan.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the center is almost set. Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool inside for 1 hour.
  8. Remove from oven and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  9. Before serving, top with cherry pie filling and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Garnish with whipped cream if desired.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for a smooth cheesecake. Chill thoroughly before serving for best texture.
