This decadent Black Forest cheesecake features a chocolate crust, creamy cheesecake filling, and cherry topping for a classic dessert.

- 1 1/2 cups chocolate wafer crumbs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Whipped cream for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
- In a bowl, mix chocolate wafer crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating on low speed after each addition until just combined.
- Stir in sour cream and cocoa powder until fully incorporated.
- Pour the batter over the crust in the pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the center is almost set. Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool inside for 1 hour.
- Remove from oven and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Before serving, top with cherry pie filling and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Garnish with whipped cream if desired.
