A spicy Cajun twist on the classic sloppy joe, featuring ground chicken seasoned with Cajun spices, served on buns.

- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- Optional toppings: shredded cheese, pickles
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground chicken until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
- Add the chopped onion, diced bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet; cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, tomato sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Spoon the mixture onto hamburger buns and add optional toppings if desired.
Notes
For a milder version, reduce the amount of Cajun seasoning. Serve with fries or a side salad for a complete meal.
