- 2 slices of bread
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- 4 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Butter or olive oil for grilling
Instructions
- Butter one side of each bread slice.
- On the non-buttered side of one slice, layer mozzarella, tomato slices, and basil leaves.
- Top with the other bread slice, buttered side out.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwich for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and cheese is melted.
Notes
Use ripe tomatoes and fresh basil for the best flavor. Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
