- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet; cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, ketchup, and mustard; simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add the cooked macaroni and shredded cheddar cheese; stir until cheese is melted and everything is well combined.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste; serve hot.
Notes
For a spicier version, add some hot sauce or diced jalapenos.
