Description

A hearty pasta dish that combines the flavors of a classic cheeseburger with pasta for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet; cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, ketchup, and mustard; simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked macaroni and shredded cheddar cheese; stir until cheese is melted and everything is well combined.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste; serve hot.

Notes

For a spicier version, add some hot sauce or diced jalapenos.
