Description

A comforting casserole featuring layers of hashbrowns, seasoned hamburger, and melted cheese for a hearty family meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 32 oz frozen hashbrowns, thawed
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (10 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef with diced onion until cooked through; drain excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the thawed hashbrowns, cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer half the hashbrown mixture in a greased 9×13 baking dish.
  5. Top with the cooked beef mixture, then sprinkle with half the cheese.
  6. Add the remaining hashbrown mixture on top, and finish with the rest of the cheese.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until bubbly and golden.

Notes

Can be prepared ahead and refrigerated. Add toppings like sour cream or green onions if desired.
