Description

A hearty casserole combining ground beef, rice, and cheese for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 cup frozen peas or mixed vegetables

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet; cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in the uncooked rice, condensed soup, milk, and seasonings; mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Top with shredded cheese.
  7. Cover and bake for 45 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until rice is tender and cheese is bubbly.
