- 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 8 oz linguine pasta
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup beef broth
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the steak bites and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute.
- Return the steak bites to the skillet and add beef broth. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Cook linguine according to package instructions, then drain.
- Toss the cooked linguine with the steak and onion mixture, then stir in shredded cheese until melted.
- Season with salt and pepper, and serve immediately.
Notes
For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes. Ensure steak is at room temperature before cooking for even browning.
