Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and grease a 9-inch cake pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add milk, oil, and vanilla extract; mix well.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the pitted cherries and chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, use fresh cherries if available; substitute with frozen if out of season.
