Description

These easy chicken street tacos are packed with flavor and perfect for a quick weeknight meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1/2 cup diced white onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges
  • Optional toppings: salsa, avocado slices

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Toss the chicken thighs in the spice mixture until evenly coated.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the chicken and cook for 6-8 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and golden brown.
  5. Remove chicken from skillet and let rest for 5 minutes, then shred using two forks.
  6. Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for 30 seconds.
  7. Assemble the tacos by filling each tortilla with shredded chicken, diced onion, and cilantro.
  8. Serve immediately with lime wedges and optional toppings.

Notes

For a spicier version, add jalapeño slices or hot sauce. Make sure to use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
