Description

A festive holiday treat shaped like a wreath using colorful candies and simple ingredients.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Assorted holiday candies (e.g., red and green gumdrops)
  • Edible decorations for the wreath

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water; heat over medium until dissolved.
  2. Bring mixture to a boil and cook until it reaches hard crack stage (about 300Β°F).
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Pour mixture onto a greased surface and let cool slightly.
  5. Shape the cooled candy into a wreath form and press candies into it for decoration.
  6. Allow to harden completely before serving.

Notes

Store in a cool, dry place; makes a great edible gift for the holidays.
