Description

Christmas Crack, also known as Saltine Toffee, is a delicious and easy-to-make holiday treat featuring a crunchy saltine cracker base topped with caramel, chocolate, and nuts. This festive dessert comes together quickly and always disappears fast!

Ingredients

  • Saltine Crackers – 40
  • Unsalted Butter – 1 cup
  • Brown Sugar – 1 cup
  • Semisweet Chocolate Chips – 12 oz
  • White Chocolate Chips – 8 oz
  • Chopped Pecans – 1 cup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a 15×10-inch jelly roll pan with aluminum foil and spray with non-stick spray.
  2. Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared pan, covering the bottom completely.
  3. In a medium saucepan, bring butter and brown sugar to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
  4. Pour the hot caramel mixture evenly over the saltine crackers.
  5. Bake for 5-6 minutes until the caramel is bubbling.
  6. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle semisweet chocolate chips evenly over the top. Let sit for 2 minutes to melt, then spread with a spatula.
  7. Sprinkle white chocolate chips on top of the melted chocolate. When melted, spread evenly.
  8. Top with chopped pecans if desired. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
  9. Break into pieces and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, use a jelly roll pan. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. This recipe can be halved for a smaller batch.
