A warm and comforting cake bursting with tender apples and a sweet cinnamon swirl. Perfect for a cozy dessert or a sweet breakfast treat.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar, divided
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups peeled and diced apples (such as Granny Smith)
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch bundt or tube pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, mix milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and stir until just combined. Fold in the diced apples.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the remaining 1/2 cup sugar with the cinnamon. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle with half of the cinnamon sugar. Top with the remaining batter and sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon sugar on top.
  4. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for 15 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.
