Description

A delicious quick bread that mimics the flavors of cinnamon donuts, perfect for a sweet breakfast.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • For the topping: 1/4 cup granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, combine the milk, egg, and melted butter.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. While the bread is baking, mix the topping ingredients in a small bowl.
  8. Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes, then brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar topping.

Notes

This bread is best enjoyed fresh and warm. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
