A delicious quick bread that mimics the flavors of cinnamon donuts, perfect for a sweet breakfast.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- For the topping: 1/4 cup granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, combine the milk, egg, and melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the bread is baking, mix the topping ingredients in a small bowl.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes, then brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar topping.
Notes
This bread is best enjoyed fresh and warm. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
