Description

Ingredients

  • 2 beef steaks (about 1-inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Step 2: Season the steaks with salt and pepper, then sear them in the skillet for 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. Step 3: In the same skillet, add onion, garlic, and bell pepper; sautΓ© until softened.
  4. Step 4: Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, and basil; bring to a simmer.
  5. Step 5: Return the steaks to the skillet and spoon the sauce over them. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes until steaks are tender.
  6. Step 6: Serve hot with your choice of sides.

Notes

For a spicier version, add crushed red pepper flakes to the sauce. Pair with crusty bread or pasta.
