- 2 beef steaks (about 1-inch thick)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Step 1: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Step 2: Season the steaks with salt and pepper, then sear them in the skillet for 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- Step 3: In the same skillet, add onion, garlic, and bell pepper; sautΓ© until softened.
- Step 4: Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, and basil; bring to a simmer.
- Step 5: Return the steaks to the skillet and spoon the sauce over them. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes until steaks are tender.
- Step 6: Serve hot with your choice of sides.
Notes
For a spicier version, add crushed red pepper flakes to the sauce. Pair with crusty bread or pasta.
