  • Author: Chef Lalybeth
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 1 1x

Description

A homemade version of the classic McDonald’s breakfast sandwich, featuring steak, egg, and cheese on a toasted bagel for a quick and easy meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 plain bagel, split and toasted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 ounces sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 slices American cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: ketchup or hot sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter.
  2. Cook the steak slices in the skillet until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side; season with salt and pepper.
  3. In the same skillet, fry the eggs to your desired doneness, about 2-3 minutes for over-easy.
  4. Place the cheese slices on the cooked steak to melt slightly.
  5. Assemble the bagel by placing the steak and cheese on one half, then top with the eggs, and cover with the other half of the bagel.
  6. Serve immediately with optional condiments.

Notes

For a closer match to McDonald’s, use a sesame seed bagel if available. Ensure steak is fully cooked to avoid any food safety issues.
