Description

A warm and comforting beef casserole perfect for a cozy evening.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces wide egg noodles, cooked
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened.
  4. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, combine cooked noodles, sour cream, and half of the cheeses.
  6. Layer half of the noodle mixture in a greased casserole dish, top with meat sauce, then repeat layers.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden.

Notes

For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the meat sauce.
