  • Author: Chef Lalybeth
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 24 pieces 1x

Description

Crispy wontons filled with a creamy mixture of cream cheese and crab, perfect as an appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 6 ounces crab meat, drained and flaked
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, crab meat, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce until well combined.
  2. Place about 1 teaspoon of the mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  3. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold into a triangle or desired shape, and press to seal.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  5. Fry the wontons in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

Notes

For a lighter version, bake the wontons at 375 degrees F for 10-12 minutes instead of frying.
