- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and cream cheese until smooth.
- Beat in the sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared sheets.
- Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week. For a festive touch, add colored sprinkles before baking.
