A creamy and indulgent side dish featuring onions baked with Asiago cheese for a rich, flavorful experience.


Ingredients

  • 4 large yellow onions, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Asiago cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and garlic, cooking until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Transfer the onions to a baking dish. Pour the heavy cream over the onions and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and thyme.
  4. Top evenly with grated Asiago cheese.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a crispier top, broil for the last 2 minutes. Pairs well with grilled meats.
