- 4 large yellow onions, peeled and sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Asiago cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and garlic, cooking until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Transfer the onions to a baking dish. Pour the heavy cream over the onions and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and thyme.
- Top evenly with grated Asiago cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a crispier top, broil for the last 2 minutes. Pairs well with grilled meats.
