- 8 ounces uncooked penne pasta
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 6 slices bacon, chopped
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- In a large pot, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy; remove bacon and set aside, leaving the grease in the pot.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pot; sautΓ© until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the chicken pieces to the pot; season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, then cook until the chicken is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the broccoli florets and cook for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.
- Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream; bring to a simmer.
- Add the uncooked pasta to the pot; stir well and cook until the pasta is al dente, about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and reserved bacon; mix until the sauce is creamy and everything is well combined.
- Remove from heat and let sit for 2 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use fresh broccoli for the best texture; adjust seasoning to taste. For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
