Ingredients

  • 8 ounces uncooked penne pasta
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy; remove bacon and set aside, leaving the grease in the pot.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pot; sautΓ© until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the chicken pieces to the pot; season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, then cook until the chicken is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the broccoli florets and cook for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream; bring to a simmer.
  6. Add the uncooked pasta to the pot; stir well and cook until the pasta is al dente, about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and reserved bacon; mix until the sauce is creamy and everything is well combined.
  8. Remove from heat and let sit for 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use fresh broccoli for the best texture; adjust seasoning to taste. For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
