Description

A creamy pasta dish infused with Jamaican flavors, featuring shrimp, bell peppers, and a spicy jerk sauce.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp jerk seasoning
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil the penne pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic, onion, and bell peppers; sautΓ© until softened.
  3. Add shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  4. Stir in jerk seasoning, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour in heavy cream and simmer for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.

Notes

For a spicier version, add extra jerk seasoning or fresh Scotch bonnet peppers. Pair with a side of plantains for an authentic touch.
