- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 1/3 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- Oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar.
- In another bowl, mix milk, vanilla extract, and egg.
- Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
- Pour batter into a funnel or squeeze bottle, then drizzle into hot oil in stick shapes.
- Fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, then remove and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.
Notes
For extra crispiness, ensure the oil is at the right temperature. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
