Description
A hearty, meaty baked ziti made in a crock pot, perfect for crowds with layers of cheese and sauce.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups ziti pasta, uncooked
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat; drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and garlic to the beef; cook until softened.
- In a crock pot, layer half of the uncooked ziti pasta at the bottom.
- Spread half of the marinara sauce over the pasta.
- Add the cooked beef mixture on top.
- Dot with ricotta cheese and sprinkle with half of the mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until pasta is tender.
- Stir gently before serving to mix cheeses.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with plant-based crumbles. Ensure the crock pot is at least half full for even cooking.
