Crockpot Cheese Tortellini and Sausage

Description

A creamy slow cooker meal featuring cheese tortellini and Italian sausage in a rich sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage, sliced
  • 19 oz package cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, cubed
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the sliced Italian sausage until cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the browned sausage to the crockpot.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth and cream of mushroom soup, stirring to combine.
  4. Add the garlic powder, dried basil, salt, and pepper.
  5. Stir in the cheese tortellini.
  6. Place the cubed cream cheese on top.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours or high for 1-2 hours, until tortellini is tender.
  8. Stir in the shredded Parmesan cheese before serving.

Notes

Serve hot with a side of garlic bread. Adjust seasoning to taste. If using frozen tortellini, add 30 minutes to cooking time.
