French Onion Rice

Description

An easy and flavorful side dish made with rice and onions.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add onions and cook until caramelized, about 15 minutes.
  3. Stir in rice and beef broth.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer covered for 20 minutes or until rice is tender.

Notes

This dish pairs well with grilled meats. For a vegetarian version, use vegetable broth.
