  • Author: Chef Lalybeth
  • Total Time: 2 hours 15 minutes
  • Yield: 24 cookies 1x

Description

Light and airy meringue cookies flavored with Jello for a fun twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 (3-ounce) package Jello gelatin (any flavor)
  • Optional: Food coloring or sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a clean, dry bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar with an electric mixer on medium speed until soft peaks form.
  3. Gradually add the sugar, one tablespoon at a time, beating on high speed until stiff peaks form and the mixture is glossy.
  4. Gently fold in the Jello powder until just combined, being careful not to deflate the mixture.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheets, or pipe them using a pastry bag for uniform shapes.
  6. Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the cookies are dry and easily lift off the parchment. Turn off the oven and let them cool inside for another hour.
  7. Once cooled, store in an airtight container.

Notes

These cookies are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored for up to a week. Experiment with different Jello flavors for variety.
