Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 egg, for egg wash
Instructions
- In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Add the yeast mixture and softened butter, then knead until smooth.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle and fold in the chopped chocolate. Chill for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough, cut into triangles, and roll each into a croissant shape.
- Place on a baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and bake at 400ยฐF for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
Ensure the butter is cold for flakier layers; best enjoyed fresh from the oven.
