Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 15 minutes.
  4. Add garlic and thyme, cooking for another 1-2 minutes.
  5. Add the meatballs to the skillet and brown on all sides.
  6. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 20-25 minutes until meatballs are cooked through and sauce thickens.
