Description

These bars combine gooey chocolate chip cookie dough with rich brownie layers for the ultimate indulgent dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 box brownie mix (prepared as per package instructions)
  • Optional: 1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts if using.
  6. Spread the cookie dough evenly in the prepared pan.
  7. Prepare the brownie mix according to package instructions and pour over the cookie dough layer.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with fudgy crumbs.
  9. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

For extra gooeyness, underbake slightly. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
