Description

These smothered burritos feature tender chicken smothered in green chile sauce and melted cheese, offering an easy and cheesy comfort food option.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 1 can (4 oz) diced green chiles
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix shredded chicken, green chiles, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  3. Lay out tortillas and divide the chicken mixture evenly among them.
  4. Sprinkle cheese on top of the chicken mixture in each tortilla.
  5. Roll up the tortillas and place them seam-side down in a baking dish.
  6. Pour salsa over the burritos and top with remaining cheese.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving with sour cream.

Notes

For a spicier version, use hot green chiles. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
