A fresh and hearty main course that combines juicy grilled flank steak with the classic flavors of a Caprese salad, all drizzled with a rich balsamic glaze.

For the Crust:
- 1.5 lbs flank steak
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 large tomatoes, sliced
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- 3 tbsp balsamic glaze
- 1 tsp dried oregano
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Pat the flank steak dry and rub it with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and dried oregano. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the steak for 5-7 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Let the steak rest for 10 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
- Arrange the sliced tomatoes and mozzarella on a platter. Top with the sliced flank steak and fresh basil leaves. Drizzle the entire dish with the balsamic glaze just before serving.
