- 1 pound ground beef
- 24 jumbo pasta shells
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
- Cook pasta shells according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until beef is browned; drain fat.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, and Italian seasoning; add cooked beef mixture and stir.
- Spread 1 cup marinara sauce in a baking dish.
- Stuff each shell with the beef and cheese mixture and place in the dish.
- Top with remaining marinara sauce and additional cheese if desired.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with spinach and mushrooms. Ensure shells are cooled before stuffing to avoid tearing.
