Description

Delicious heart-shaped cookies with a sweet jam center, perfect for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup fruit jam (such as raspberry or strawberry)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and salt, then gradually mix in the flour until a dough forms.
  4. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Use your thumb or the back of a spoon to make an indentation in the center of each ball.
  6. Fill each indentation with about 1/2 teaspoon of jam.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For heart-shaped cookies, use a heart-shaped cookie cutter or mold the dough into hearts before baking. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
