Description

Delicious meatballs coated in a sweet and tangy cranberry orange sauce, perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can (14 ounces) jellied cranberry sauce
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange zest

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into 1-inch meatballs.
  2. Place meatballs on a baking sheet and bake at 375Β°F for 20 minutes or until cooked through.
  3. In a saucepan, combine cranberry sauce, orange juice, brown sugar, cornstarch, and orange zest. Cook over medium heat, stirring until thickened.
  4. Add cooked meatballs to the sauce and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to coat.
  5. Serve warm as an appetizer or main dish.

Notes

For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the meatball mixture.
