- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 can (14 ounces) jellied cranberry sauce
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into 1-inch meatballs.
- Place meatballs on a baking sheet and bake at 375Β°F for 20 minutes or until cooked through.
- In a saucepan, combine cranberry sauce, orange juice, brown sugar, cornstarch, and orange zest. Cook over medium heat, stirring until thickened.
- Add cooked meatballs to the sauce and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to coat.
- Serve warm as an appetizer or main dish.
Notes
For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the meatball mixture.
