- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground lamb or beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups mashed potatoes (prepared)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground meat and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
- Add diced onion, carrots, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in frozen peas, beef broth, tomato paste, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish and spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden and the filling is bubbling.
Notes
For a traditional version, use lamb instead of beef. Adjust seasoning to taste.
