Description

Delicious meatballs coated in a tangy sweet and sour sauce, perfect for a quick family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • For the sauce:
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, and onion until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides.
  4. In a separate saucepan, combine pineapple juice, brown sugar, vinegar, and soy sauce; bring to a boil.
  5. Dissolve cornstarch in a little water and stir into the sauce to thicken.
  6. Add the meatballs to the sauce and simmer for 10-15 minutes.

Notes

For a healthier version, use ground turkey instead of beef. Serve with steamed rice or vegetables.
