- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 pounds flank steak, sliced against the grain
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 cups cooked white rice
- Optional: chopped green onions for garnish
- Optional: sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season the steak slices with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Return the steak to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Serve the steak and sauce over cooked rice. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
For best results, use fresh garlic and high-quality honey. This dish pairs well with steamed vegetables.
