Description

A sweet and salty snack mix featuring toffee-coated Chex cereal for an irresistible treat.


Ingredients

  • 9 cups Chex cereal (mixed varieties)
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup toffee bits

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. In a large roasting pan, mix the Chex cereal.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat; stir in brown sugar and corn syrup.
  4. Bring to a boil and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and baking soda.
  6. Pour the mixture over the cereal and stir to coat evenly.
  7. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  8. Spread on waxed paper to cool, then sprinkle with toffee bits.
