- Crust:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- Filling:
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- For the crust: In a bowl, mix flour, butter, and sugar until crumbly. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Bake the crust for 15 minutes, then remove from oven.
- For the filling: In another bowl, whisk together corn syrup, eggs, brown sugar, vanilla, and salt. Stir in pecans.
- Pour the filling over the baked crust and spread evenly.
- Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes or until set.
- Cool completely before cutting into bars.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For a nut-free version, substitute pecans with chocolate chips.
