  • Crust:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Filling:
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. For the crust: In a bowl, mix flour, butter, and sugar until crumbly. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. Bake the crust for 15 minutes, then remove from oven.
  4. For the filling: In another bowl, whisk together corn syrup, eggs, brown sugar, vanilla, and salt. Stir in pecans.
  5. Pour the filling over the baked crust and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes or until set.
  7. Cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For a nut-free version, substitute pecans with chocolate chips.
