Mini French Breakfast Puffs

Description

Delicious mini puffs perfect for a French-inspired breakfast, lightly spiced and easy to make.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • For coating: 1/2 cup white sugar
  • For coating: 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • For coating: 1/3 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a mini muffin tin.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, beat 1/2 cup sugar and 1/3 cup melted butter; add egg and milk.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Fill muffin cups 2/3 full and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  6. While warm, roll puffs in melted butter, then in cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Notes

These puffs are best served fresh and warm.
