- 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- For the topping:
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Chocolate shavings for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the crust: Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Mix crushed graham crackers, sugar, and melted butter. Press into a 9-inch pie dish. Bake for 10 minutes and cool completely.
- Make the filling: In a saucepan, combine milk, sugar, cornstarch, cocoa, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Temper egg yolks with hot mixture, then return to pan. Cook until custard thickens. Remove from heat, add butter, vanilla, and chocolate. Stir until smooth. Pour into crust. Chill for 4 hours.
- Prepare the topping: Whip cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Spread over pie. Garnish with chocolate shavings. Serve chilled.
